Serialization Software Specialist, Adents, Hires James M. Cummings as Vice President, Americas

Industry Veteran Will Play Key Role in North American Expansion for Company Offering Versatile, Easily-deployable Track-and-Trace Software

Princeton, NJ – 15 september – Adents, a leading provider of versatile and easily deployable serialization and track-and-trace software solutions for the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries, has hired James (Jim) M. Cummings as Vice President, Americas.

A 30-year veteran of B2B systems sales, Mr. Cummings will be overseeing Adents’ operations in the Americas; this comes in addition to his previous responsibilities of setting up and managing a partner network to support the company’s entry into North and South America. Widely known in Europe, Adents recently opened a U.S. office in Princeton, NJ as it continues to make inroads into the North American pharmaceutical sector.

Mr. Cummings will play a key role in this expansion, both through a sales oversight position and his ongoing mandate to identify, contract and train new partners, serving as an Adents advocate while supporting their overall sales efforts. Mr. Cummings has an extensive background in instrumentation, automation and information systems for manufacturing. He was a founder and president of a systems integration company that delivered solutions to several industries, with a focus primarily in the Life Science industries. In this role, he was instrumental in establishing the company’s expertise in computer system validation and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance. Solutions delivered were turnkey, followed GAMP 5 methodology, and included system validation.

Prior to joining Adents, Mr. Cummings worked for Avanceon, where he led a Life Science Industries sector initiative to organize and manage a global network of engineering offices in support of packaging line serialization. Here, he partnered with a major serialization software vendor to introduce, sell and implement these solutions globally, and was responsible for training of both engineers and sales personnel. Naturally, this serialization background serves Mr. Cummings well at Adents, whose core solution for the pharmaceutical sector, Adents Pharma Suite, is unparalleled in its combination of fast implementation, user simplicity and cost-effectiveness. Efficient and reliable, Adents Pharma Suite is fully interoperable, easily scalable and exceptionally flexible to the ever-shifting needs of pharmaceuticals manufacturers and contract packagers

Developed in compliance with GMP and 21 CFR Part 11 regulations and following GAMP5 guidelines, Adents’ serialization software solutions perform a variety of crucial track-and-trace capabilities, including:

  • Generation of unique barcodes and importation of serial numbers
  • Affiliations management for origin identification (bundle, pallet, etc.), and distribution of various types of serialized code
  • Facilitate and drive the printing of unit barcodes, and control their conformity
  • Data centralization and reports processing

Mr. Cummings received an Electrical Engineering degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, and a B.S. in Business Administration from Villanova University. He was a founding member and chairman of the Control Systems Integrators Association, helping to develop and position the CSIA as an important voice in the systems integration industry.

Christophe Devins, CEO, Adents said: “Jim’s extensive background in software serialization makes him a great asset to us as we introduce Adents Pharma Suite – a powerful serialization solution that combines high accuracy with fast implementation and user simplicity – to the Americas.”
